JAMBOREE ON THE AIR (JOTA) IS OCTOBER 14-16, 2016 <x-apple-data-detectors://8> 

Scoutings’ largest world-wide event, known as Jamboree on the Air is coming up the weekend of October 14-16, 2016 <x-apple-data-detectors://9> .  Over one million scouts participate in a typical year, along with more than 20,000 amateur radio operators staffing over 11,000 stations.  

You may have been a participant in JOTA as a scout — perhaps your first QSO on the radio.  That fun and excitement may have been just the trigger that got you interested in Ham Radio.  Consider this your invitation to help a Boy or Girl Scout sample the magical world of amateur radio by volunteering your station and expertise to participate in JOTA.  

We all know someone involved in scouting.  Talk with them about setting up a station on a campout (the weekend of Oct. 14-16 <x-apple-data-detectors://10> ), in a park, at a scouting unit’s meeting place or at your shack.
