Brad,

I relayed the information exactly as it appears in QRZ, which shows your license (KF5NNZ) expired in November 2021 and that the renewal window has passed. As a result, there are currently no operating privileges associated with that callsign.

After you mentioned upgrading in 2017, I located that application, which was approved on 08/01/2017. Under normal circumstances, that upgrade would have extended your expiration date to 2027. However, the application includes an unusual detail.

The “Requested Expiration Date” field is populated. That’s not something I’ve personally seen before, and if it were honored, would provide a 12-year term. Given that inconsistency, this appears to be an issue best addressed by the VEC that handled the filing. I recommend contacting W5YI directly at vec at w5yi-vec.org to see if they can provide clarification or assistance.
