Thanks Roger, I was KN4VGM in the early 60's I was working in
Broadcasting in Miami, I also got my firs class phone and the K4 as a tech. I am not
a CW person.

I spent four years in the USAF, Radar and bombing computer. I got out
just months before my unit was shipped to Thailand, they spent any number of
years trying to make the Ho Chi Minh trail go away with 750 lb bombs, it
didn't work. AS for me a
part said I should have been with them, another said I was glad not to
have been.

I worked in TV at MT Wilson in LA then got into paging, (beepers) That
was a hoot, new things every day Voice, numeric and Alpha then satellite
That industry came on fast and went away fast. I found my self 60 years old
and no trade, Broadcasting had changed so much I didn't understand it. I
took a Real Estate license, I never did well but did sell a bunch of houses.

I took a position doing stage lighting and set construction for my church.
That lasted for a spell and I retired. I still switch video at the church
now and then.

I did get my general and my extra, found K5VGM had belonged to someone in
Collage station long ago and I took it.

I live in Hockley on a couple of acres With my wife and her mother and have
a passion for antennas. I continue to be amazed that you can make current
flow in a wire without a circuit and some one some where else can know you
did it.

I'm not a contester but love to build things.

I am looking forward to being a part of the club and it's activities.

All,
I'd like to welcome our newest member, John Parmalee, K5VGM, who joined up
at the meeting last Wednesday. Welcome, John!
We had a slight glitch getting John set up with the club reflector, but I
believe that has been resolved.
John, to confirm everything is working ok, please respond to the reflector
(just do a replay to this email). If you like, tell us a little bit about
yourself and your ham radio and other interests.
Thanks and 73,
Roger N5RWK
