Will listen, but doubt if I will hear anything. Maybe 80 miles?

Folks,

For those who haven't participated in a net before - here is how I'll plan on operating:

First, note the suffix of your call sign - specifically the letter after the number. For example, W5SFA would be "S".

As net control, I'll announce the start of the net, and ask for check-ins beginning with A-L. If you call suffix falls in this range, simply announce your call sign. After everyone in the A-L range has checked in, I will repeat each call and ask for any others in the A-L range. Then we'll move on to the M-Z range and do the same thing. (This is to keep too many people from checking in at the same time).

After everyone has checked in, I'll ask each call sign to speak in order of check-in. State your call and name, and anything else you would like to say. For example, your radio, power output and antenna are - whatever you like.

When we've gone through the entire list, I'll make some general announcements, then we'll throw it open. If you have something to contribute, give your call. I will give you the "floor" and you say your piece, then on to the next person until we run out of things to say. At that point the net will conclude.

That's about as formal as we'll get! Hope to "see " you on the net!

Roger
