Our October club meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, at Yani's Steak House in Bellville. As usual, dinner is at 6 and meeting at 7. The main event will be a presentation by Bill Pellerin, KE5XV about D-Star digital repeaters. As you've probably heard, the club now has an operational D-Star repeater, thanks to Dan White. But you'll need a D-Star radio or a USB stick with a computer to access it. Bill's talk will cover this, and there will be a demonstration afterward.

Also coming up this Saturday, October 28 is our SKYWARN training, which is being held in the Austin County Courthouse basement at 1 - 3:30 pm. Remember, you don't have to be a ham to take the training, and it's open to the public. And did I mention it's free?

Finally, our special event station at the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site is Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 am till 4 pm. We'll be operating at least one transmitter with a 600W amp, to make sure we get heard, with the approach of the solar minimum. With any luck we should have cool weather too.
