Folks,
As you may know, ARRL Field Day is fast approaching on Saturday, June 26. Our club has been invited to participate with the Katy Amateur Radio Society, who will be operating at a site east of the Brazos near FM 529. This will be a great opportunity for meeting, working and socializing with our fellow hams. The KARS folks will have food, soft drinks and water on site as well as rest rooms. You can stop by for a short visit or stay for the whole event.
Gary KF5ZRT and I are planning to operate Saturday afternoon with our W5SFA club call, Gary on FT8 and myself on 2m SSB and 6m SSB and FM. Let me know if you would like to operate so we can coordinate this with the KARS folks.
This is a great opportunity to operate as a club and also to see different rigs and antennas in use, as well as getting on the air. It's very much a social event, so don't feel obligated to set up a rig, just visit and see what's going on - or you can operate one of the stations we'll have set up.
More information will be forthcoming as the date gets closer. We will finalize arrangements at the June club meeting on the 24th. In the meantime, let me know if any questions.
73,
Roger N5RWK
