It?s set an endurance record for time being up, although KF5ZRT/A made 2 ? trips around the world. W5SFA has lost some altitude, down to 11,120m (it originally got up over 12,000m) but seems to be holding steady. Hopefully it will last long enough to complete its second trip. Club members: if you go to http://qrp-labs.com/track/2873_W5SFA-U4B1.html you?ll see the balloon?s track. The color of the track follows the resistor code for each trip around the world. Also, there a link on that page to some launch photos back on March 25. Two other balloons were launched that day, but came down after a few hours of flight. We think that the balloons may have been defective. The K5FRT balloon, launched on May 22 has gone dark as of May 28, 12:16z. We're hoping it will start transmitting again, but it isn't looking good. Still, it was aloft almost 6 days and traveled halfway around the world. There is a new tracking web site for balloons at https://traquito.github.io/search/spots/dashboard/ You'll need to input the balloon's call sign, channel (if a U4B) and date range, but you can see the entire history of where a particular balloon has traveled. Here is the link for the W5SFA balloon: https://traquito.github.io/search/spots/dashboard/?band=20m&channel=217&callsign=W5SFA&limit=9999&dtGte=2023-03-25&dtLte=2023-05-30 73, Roger N5RWK Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/) secure email. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... No less than 100 ships will be on the air participating. It is not a contest, but if you work 15 or more ships you can apply for a certificate. See details at https://www.nj2bb.org/museum/index.html Local times for the 48-hour operation are: Start: 7 pm Central, Friday June 2 (0000z 6/3) End: 6:59pm Central, Sunday June 4 (2359z 6/4) Ships may be on CW, SSB and/or Digital, so pick your favorite mode. They will likely be in the General portion of the bands. 73, Roger N5RWK Sent with [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/) secure email. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
