[W5SFA] Call sign and name on C4FM

Brad,

I don't have an FT-7900, so not sure this will be of much help.

This site has some instructions for programming without a computer: http://www.n1gy.com/programming-the-ft-7900r.html

Also, looks like the free CHIRP software is also capable of programming the FT-7900, but you need a cable to do this. See https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/CableGuide

Hope this helps!

I have the FT-7900. While programmable, when I typed in that station associated the frequency, only the station showed in the screen and no longer the frequency. It was quite annoying.

Members,

You can add your name (short version) after your call on your Yaesu radios. This will show up on the network ID when you talk to others. The MAX is 10 characters with no spaces. So W5AOV-DAN is nine and works fine. WR5DC-CODY is 10 and works fine. See what you can do to help us people with short memories.
